The Challenge: Establishing a Visual Identity from Scratch

Located in the heart of Watford's Town Centre, The Garden Rooms needed a comprehensive visual framework to match its premium atmosphere. The venue required a consistent design language that could be applied across various mediums—from the hands of the customers to the screens of their smartphones.

Axelerate was tasked with building this promotional infrastructure from the ground up. The goal was to ensure that every digital flyer, business card, and physical menu served as a cohesive building block for the brand’s reputation in a competitive local market.

Phase 1: Creating a Bespoke Promotional Ecosystem

Rather than using generic templates, we developed a suite of high-energy promotional assets specifically for the venue. This involved defining a core visual "DNA" that could be translated seamlessly across both digital and print formats.

We created a foundational library of assets, including:

Unique Event Flyers: High-impact designs for specific club nights and live music events, each with a distinct theme while remaining "on-brand".

Social Media Content: Bespoke layouts and motion graphics for Instagram Stories and posts, optimised for maximum engagement.

Phase 2: Professional Food & Drink Photography

A premium menu requires high-quality, original imagery to build trust and appetite. To support the brand’s launch and seasonal updates, we conducted professional photography sessions on-site.

Asset Creation: We captured "hero shots" of signature cocktails and food dishes, utilising studio lighting to highlight textures and colours.

Versatile Library: These assets provided the foundation for the menu and established a content bank for social media and local PR opportunities.

Phase 3: Custom Menu Design & Engineering

The final phase was the design and engineering of the physical menu. This was a strategic exercise in guiding the customer’s journey and maximising revenue.

We used the custom photography and logical information architecture to:
